Our Ultimaker S5 is the complete professional 3D printing solution. It is equipped with an enhanced operating system to aid in precision and boasts one of the industry leading build volumes to deliver accurate and repeatable aerospace-grade parts every time. In addition, thanks to the Ultimaker patented dual extrusion system, we are capable of delivering endless material combinations including water soluble support material for critical internal geometries.
Our 3D printer is equipped with an internal active bed levelling system to ensure perfect first layer adhesion every print. In addition to a hard sided enclosure and internal environmental control system, our 3D printer also packs a filament flow sensor to identify low filament and sends notifications for material refill.
Our 3D printer is not your entry level desktop system. It packs a punch with a build volume of 330 x 240 x 300 mm (13 x 9.4 x 11.8 inches) combined with Ultimaker’s reliable dual extrusion and water-soluble support, gives even more freedom to realize your designs and the flexibility to print multiple parts in one nest. We can meet demand with maximum efficiency, while fitting comfortably on the large heated glass bed.
Our 3D printer has a unique print core design allowing for nozzle swapping in seconds, even mid print, switching between build and support materials. We also have multiple print cores, so switching between 0.8, 0.4, or 0.25 mm extruder for detailed prints is reliable and repeatable.
Our 3D printer is equipped with easy touch controls to actively monitor print progress or identify filament issues quickly with a built-in camera. Never have a critical print fail again!
Our Ultimaker S5 is capable of 3D Printing a wide variety of over 250+ unique filament and support materials. Ultimaker has partnered with over 60 leading 3D printing materials companies, who have tested and optimized their materials for UltiMaker printers and published more than 280 print profiles on the UltiMaker Marketplace. From easily printable polymers to specific filaments certified for engineering applications – We guarantee our UltiMaker S5 offers the widest 3D printing filament and support material choice on the market!
We specialize in selecting the correct 3D printing materials for your application. Some key material characteristics we focus on during the material selection process include:
UltiMaker Tough PLA 3D printing material is a technical PLA (polylactic acid) with a toughness similar to ABS. It is ideal for printing functional prototypes and tooling at larger sizes – without fear of delamination or warping. Designs with intricate curves, fine details, and overhangs can be easily printed with Tough PLA, especially when combined with Breakaway or water-soluble PVA support.
UltiMaker ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) 3D printing material is formulated to minimize warping and ensure consistent interlayer adhesion. It is a great choice for creating functional prototypes and complex end-use parts. ABS can accurately simulate the form, fit, and function of an end-use part’s performance – giving you confidence in the final design.
Ultimaker Nylon is a polyamide grade based on PA6/66. It features reduced humidity absorption and a longer shelf life compared to other nylon filaments. Able to withstand significant mechanical stress, nylon material is a great choice for 3D printing tools, functional prototypes, and end-use parts. Strong and durable, it is an ideal filament choice based on PA6/66 for manufacturing spare or replacement parts that must withstand heavy use.
Ultimaker PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) is a durable and industrial 3D printing material. PETG is a modified version of PET, the plastic you likely associate with disposable water bottles and other clear containers. PETG is best known for its durability and strength, and the plastic is resistant to high temperatures, UV rays, water, chemical solvents, and more. All of this makes PETG an ideal filament material option for printing parts that will exist in harsh environments or have to undergo a lot of physical stress.
UltiMaker CPE+ 3D printing material is chemical resistant with high dimensional stability, with the added advantages of increased temperature resistance and higher impact strength compared to abs. CPE+ has properties that offer increased thermal resistance and impact strength for applications that need to stand up to wear and tear.
Ultimaker PC (polycarbonate) 3D print material is tough, strong, and retains dimensional stability when subjected to temperatures as high as 110 ºC. Polycarbonate 3D printing material properties make it perfect for printing molds, tools, functional prototypes, and parts for short-run manufacturing. PC filament also has an amorphous polymer. This means it is highly effective in transmitting light through 3D printed parts.
UltiMaker PP (polypropylene) 3D printing material is a durable, chemical resistant material. It has exceptional fatigue resistance, high levels of toughness, and a low-friction co-efficient. From electrical components to living hinges, PP is the go-to material for prototyping and end-use parts. UltiMaker PP has high fatigue resistance and does not break when repeatedly bent. Clamps and living hinges can remain functional for the lifetime of the printed part. PP 3D printing material is an excellent choice when a design requires translucent properties for aesthetic purposes.
UltiMaker TPU 95A (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a flexible material, making it ideal for applications that demand chemical resistance and the qualities of rubber and plastic. Use the versatile and flexible properties of TPU 95A to conform to an existing part’s surface geometry, or standalone component designs. Our TPU filament is perfect for 3D printing parts that must retain structural and surface characteristics while subjected to mechanically or chemically harsh environments.
